I guess when I asked about anyone having a Sears Maintenance Contracts, thought their stock with Sears would drop. I didn't get any answers so, let's try again. Is it worth paying big bucks for a 2 or 3 year maintenance contract/agreement, and have you received the service/repairs when you wanted it ? I don't work for Sears or any other company that services Garden equipment, just looking for input from people who have bought and used these types of services. Thanks

I know there can't be that many do-it-yourself people out there. I won't make fun of your answers or mishaps, and don't want anyone else to, just need to get information. Have only one answer to my question in the last two days. Can't tell me with all the junk e-mails that I have read, there aren't good business type people out there to come up with what has taken place with them. Thanks

service contracts of any kind on any product are a bad idea. they are never worth the money charged for them.

i work in a small engine repair shop for lawn and garden equipment. I am the store manager for our second location. I have been working at this shop for about a year and a half now, and ever since I have started working here, I have been frequently asked the same two questions. "Does you dad own this shop?" and "Does your husband run this shop?". I personally find both of the questions very rude. Why is it that people think that I have to either be sleeping w/ the owner or related to the owner to get this kind of job? Is this not a little sexist? Or am I just over reacting. I swear, I hear these same questions at least once a week. What sort of witty comment can I say to people when they ask me these questions? Because I am starting to become very irritated by it.

I am pretty good at what I do. I am no mechanic and I am certainly not an expert, but for a 20 year old woman, I do tend to impress most men that walk through my door. I have worked my way up and worked hard to gain respect. I am just tired of the sexist comments.

Just bought my new 50" Plasma TV (Panasonic) at Sears on sale for $3150. Everywhere else (just about) had it at retail for $3499. Some like Best Buy had it on sale for $3350.

With Sears I saved money. Plus I applied for their credit card and got a 5% rebate ($150) and 6 months interest free no payments etc.

They are GREAT for buying APPLIANCES and ELECTRONICs like TVs etc.

I had a small welding shop where I used to manufacture burglar bars and Victorian garden fences. Now builders in this and most surrounding areas are using pre-fabricated components and illegal labor for the installations in all the new homes.

My question in what can I manufacture and sell to a global economy.

I have welding and cutting machines. I have fabricating tables. I have 2 drill presses. I have chop saws and wood saws and table saws. I have tools to repair most heavy equipment.

What someone like me living in Taiwan do how would they find work for their shop.

Consider my suggestion, hope it works for you:

With the kind of machines and set-up you have, you may diversify your activities to home decoration and allied products for showrooms, shops etc. such as fancy wall brackets for shelves, flower pot holders, fixed and mobile stands, tables with glass tops, sofa-sets with cushions, cushioned seating benches and stools and other furniture items, fancy grills and gates.

You would require fancy and somewhat different new designing, pattern, styles and blending of other materials. The touch of artist flavour and designer look would fetch you good business and money.
